From Prada uniforms to Martine Rose x Nike mules, football is top of mind this summer—on & off the field.
First, Wales Bonner and Adidas kicked off last month by launching the shoe of the summer: Sambas reimagined with whipstitching, metallic silver, and lace detailing along their stripes. That's a W in our book.
Shortly after, Pharrell sent football-inspired jerseys down the runway at his big splash of a debut collection for Louis Vuitton at Paris Menswear Fashion Week. With ties to the sport, he's first to introduce a football kit to Vuitton, likely making a mark in luxury streetwear trends.
And then, just this week, Prada announced an official partnership with the Chinese Women’s National Football Team with some fresh tailoring. Comprised of a black blazer, matching trousers, crisp shirt, and a pair of loafers, the team’s off-the-field uniform is ultimate chic and obvi very HommeGirls.
Just when you thought three-makes-a-trend was enough, in came Martine Rose & Nike. Their new collaboration, dropping July 25th, draws inspiration from female football players while merging traditional tailoring with sport. The gender-fluid lineup consists of suit jackets, trench coats, graphic jerseys, and a new take on our favorite Shox mules—this time, in vibrant colorways, reminiscent of 90's goalkeeper jerseys.
If you're like us and into football—this season's game has you covered.
